Yesterday was the big day! The one year anniversary of the lung mass removal and learning that Gwen had cancer. And what a year it has been. In many ways it has felt like much longer than one year. I think we are all ready to say goodbye to 2015!
I would have posted yesterday, but we were in the car heading back to NC after spending a week and a half in NY for the holidays!
It was really nice spending time together in this place:
The cousins had a ton of fun running around. They got to enjoy some snow toward the second half of the trip, and we went to the zoo (when it was freezing cold outside) to celebrate “Noon Year’s Eve.”
We got to enjoy time at a vineyard located in the backyard of the rental home:
And of course, we ate lots:
And as Gwen put it so well on her Facebook page today,
“Yesterday was my 1 year cancerversary. I am thankful and feeling blessed to be here feeling very healthy. Thank you to all my family and friends that helped me and my family get through 2015. Here’s hoping a cure is found in 2016! Happy new year everyone.”
